Saturday morning we were driving around looking for a parking place for Ian’s football game. He is on a flag football team at the local YMCA. As we were driving I heard Connor say to Ian, “Do Good Work.” I tapped my husbands arm to see if he heard it and we just smiled at each other.
That encouragement from one son to the next really had me thinking this weekend.
Do good work…….
Encouragement from one person to another really can go a long way. It may truly make the difference in another persons life. Today I walked a 5K with a friend as part of my mission to live healthier. I posted my accomplishment on Facebook and so many friends cheered me on. The walk felt good, but the cheerleaders helped me feel even better.
Really, why don’t we spend more time encouraging others?
Sometimes, I feel like people treat life as a competition. I have more money than you, my kids are smarter than yours, my job is better than yours, our house is bigger than yours, and so on….
What if life was more about encouraging people to meet their goals…….
So, that’s what I am going to try to do….
BE MORE ENCOURAGING
and I’m starting with you! Have you read the quote I posted? It is so true – If you can’t go without thinking about something you truly should NEVER give up on that dream! Spend today looking at your dreams and how you can make them come true!
Every Monday is going to be about Encouraging others – either through a story, a quote, or whatever way you want to provide encouragemnt. It’s my small step to make the world a better place!
This is only one of my goals that I am setting in honor of my 37th birthday tomorrow. Stay tuned for more!
